Press comment: The Pensions Regulator bares teeth over auto enrolment

Jon Greer“Today’s news show The Pensions Regulator is willing to bare its teeth on auto enrolment. While the ‘Workie’ TV advertising has pursued a relatively light-hearted tone in drawing attention to employer auto-enrolment responsibilities, today the regulator showed it is willing to get tough on employers that don’t meet their obligations.

“This is a warning shot for companies that are delaying setting up a workplace pension for their staff.

“If you think you should be getting a pension, speak to your employer. The company has to pay in, and you receive tax-relief on any money you contribute, so if you aren’t getting the pension you’re entitled to you could be missing out.”
